Fast-board is a project to distribute a fast, secure and easy to manage forum, all in PHP/MySQL. Fast-board forum development started in 2002, and has been in production since 2003 on www.forum-mp3.com.
Meanwhile, several versions of the forum have been built, bringing amelioration, always ranking optimization and security, to avoid any kind of hacking. The starting point was a personal script tailored to the web site's need, but it now has become a real professional script: stable and complete enough to distribute it and share it with other webmasters who do not have the time or resources to develop their own.

Before it can be distributed, we need to adapt the forum to a large public, with more options and an easier configuration. Until now, it was developed to suit specific needs and its configuration is minimalist, it only has the options that were really needed. It also needs to be tested and debugged for the existing functions and also the new ones: distributing it without debugging tests would bring up many problems. For now, "Fast-board" is the project name, and not the final name for the forum. It will have a new name when we reach the distribution phase. The users will be kept in the loop and will know the new name and there will be a redirection to the new domain name.

I am looking for webmasters to beta-test the forum performances - speed and options- but also to test the migration from another forum script and design integration. It will not be possible to test hundreds of forums, so we need forums that already are big - over 1,000 members or at least 100,000 messages.

Note :
Remember that being a candidate for beta testing does not engage you do anything, tests will be done locally, not on your server, and no modification will be made to the forum you will be using on your end. And you will not have to use our forum after the testing is done.
Our goal is to become the best forum available, but mostly to be an alternative to forums that are already in existence.
If you have specific options or needs that are not available yet and which you need for your forum, please propose them so that they can be worked into the script. Within the next few months there will be more options added to the script, right now all the options are basic and essential, smaller options will be worked in later. You can submit your ideas via the demonstration forum or via email.
If you know of friends, webmasters, family members who would be interested in a forum script, please let them know about Fast-board. They might be interested. They would also be able to submit their own ideas of options for the forum.
Here are some of the performance tests already measured on the forum:
-over 190 millions messages in the forum
-over 28 millions messages within a single category
-over 200,000 subjects within a single category
-over 230,000 answers within a single subject
Note: Those are not maximum performances, of course the script can do a lot more. Whether there are millions of messages or only dozens, the performances are stable.
After over six years in developing our forum script, it has now reached stability and a complete version. A test protocol has also been created to allow us to detect bugs and possible security holes during developing.
The forum has been optimized for search engines referencing: url-rewriting, meta tags optimization and a lot more useful details for referencing. Of course, the content will eventually do the rest.
